Description |
 FILET |
FILET CROCHET FROM YESTERDAY ($17.95).
|
This volume contains two completely
unabridged editions of Priscilla filet Crochet (books 1 and 2) published in
1911 and 1914. 96 pages are packed full of charts for linen edgings and
insertions, pictures, lamp shades, and quite a few alphabets. The print is
rather small, but everything is charted out for filet work anyway. A
treasure for the lover of vintage thread work, that is almost impossible to
find these days. |
 IRISH-CR |
IRISH CROCHET ($17.95).
|
This is the second book in the Crocheter's
Historical Pattern Series. Volume Two contains two completely unabridged
editions of Priscilla Irish Crochet ( books 1 and 2) published in 1909 and
1911. The items in here are fabulous - butterflies, flowers, leaves,
buttons, collars, bags, the list could go on. I don't know how many of us
would be brave enough to tackle some of these projects, but they're great
for just dreaming over! 96 pages in all. |
 PP-EDGINGS |
CROCHETED EDGINGS INSERTIONS & FANCYWORK ($19.95) |
The third in the Crocheter's Historical Pattern series, this is a completely unabridged
reprint of The Home Art Crochet Book, originally published in 1919. Again,
another book of patterns that are not for the faint-hearted, but some of
these patterns are works of art - some of the most elaborate edgings I've
ever seen! Many of the patterns use tapes and braids that are not readily
available today, but where there's a will there's a way, I'm sure. One of
the braids looks like a very narrow picot edge ribbon; why not experiment
with the ribbon? There is even an illustration of the "clones knot" in
progress (on the hook). 118 pages, plus ads for 2 bedspread patterns that
can be ordered. |
 PP-TREASURES |
ESSENTIAL CROCHET TREASURES ($19.95) |
The fourth in the
Crocheter's Historical Pattern series, this is a completely unabridged
reprint of The Art of Crochet, originally published by the Butterick
Publishing Co. in 1891. A wonderful collection of patterns in many areas
of interest - edgings, squares for bedspreads, clothing, mats, purses,
etc. All with line drawings from before the turn of the last century, in
which the thread looks like rope! 144 pages, plus ads for bedspread
patterns to be ordered. |
